1970s era Captain Marvel

Hi all,

I recently purchased and read the bound version of the 'Kree-Skrull War'. In one scene, in the first issue of the series (Avengers 89), Mar-Vell mentions that the nega-bands have dissolved from his wrists and that he can no longer fly. Does anyone know the explanation for this, i.e., why do the bands dissolve? What do the bands do?

I dunno why they dissolved. They allowed him to fly, increased his strength, etc. He could also smack them together to trade places with Rick Jones in the Negative Zone.
