It is a shame that in today's society, with all its available knowledge and education, that people are still closed minded and rude. I recently posted my opinion of the Hulk movie and referenced some of my 4 year old nephews comments. I was met by insults and hostility because I dared mention the childs thoughts regarding the movie. This forum and the news groups that are out there are public domains. I am entitled to post my views as well as the opinions of my nephew, if I should choose too.

Because it's a comic book movie it is therefore for children? Does that mean From Hell was suitable? I wouldn't have taken a 4 year old to Spiderman either to tell the truth. Whilst movies like Spidey, Hulk, X-men etc come from comics the movies are designed for a minimum audience of Teenagers. I doubt a 4 year old can full appreciate it or understand it. If you want to take a kid to a movie take them to something aimed at them like Sinbad.

What does From Hell have to do with The Hulk? Once again you're comparing the horror genre with adventure genre. You mention Sinbad as being aimed towards a kid. Why is that? Sinbad has violence, Hulk also had violence. Of course Hulk wasn't created for a children's audience, but it doesn't stop kid's from seeing it. Many comics aren't written for kids but it's kids who buy them. The main thing you missed from the guy's post is that the nephew thought Hulk was 'too cartoony'. He didn't think the angst was overwhelming, or that the violence was scary. The 4 year-old echoes what some other critics had said about the movie. If age is all you're basing your annoyance at, then I disagree with you. I started reading novels at 6. A 13-year old just graduated with a double major, while at the same time leading a multinational crusade that earned him a nobel-prize

BTW Peter, I'm not yelling at you. I'm just a little upset that someone would be making comments about someone's kid. That's very

They are both based on comic books.

Hulk is not adventure. It's more drama.

uhmmm because it was specifically written and produced for children in mind and therefore has a story and concept which is easier for a child to understand.

But it should stop people taking kids under 8 especially to see it. I wouldn't dream of taking my best friend's kid (I'm her psuedo uncle) to see the Hulk or any of the other comic book movies that have come out. I did though take her to Shrek and Monsters Inc.

Probably because the kid didn't understand it.

Novels like War and Peace or novels like Sweet Valley High?

Betcha when he was 4 he wouldn't have understood the Hulk movie either.

And Sinbad and Hulk are both animated films. The media may be the same, but the genre are different.

Which is what angered many critics. However, the trailers and marketing billed the film as a comicbook action adventure.

As is apparent by the publicity and licensing directed towards kids, you're wrong. Children's toys, children's refreshments, children's clothing all piggybacked the Hulk's release. While the actual movie may not have been a propos for kids, the marketing before the film's release was obviously for kids, and influenced many families' sojourns.

I don't know how intelligent she is : but Shrek contained mature innuendo, scenes of torture, and violent depictions. Therefore there's nothing in the HULK that she couldn't watch.

He said it was cartoony so you assume he didn't understand it. Hahah.

Comparing HULK to War and Peace is silly. It had nowhere near the same depth, despit how much you liked it. As for what I read at 6: I read A Christmas Carol, and Lord of the Flies that year.

Janus shakes his head, we do know, at age 4, you wouldn't understand the

In the US it's rated PG-13 whilst not quite R, this hardly indicates a movie that should be view by anyone who isn't allowed to go shopping by

How many real people (ie, not comic book fans) even knew that From Hell was based on a comic book?

That's the point where you get up, go tell the theater manager that there is a problem and let them take care of it. They *WILL* ask her to leave the theater and refund her money, that's happened every time I've complained about disruptive children in the theater.

The arguement was that comic book movies were suitable for children. Hence the challenge by that example.
