I know that John Byrne is almost Universally hated, but his Generations mini(s) for DC have been really good stuff. I was wondering if anyone would like to see Byrne do a mini for Marvel using the same concept. For those not following the Generations mini(s), the concept is that the DC heroes started in the years they were introduced. Meaning that Batman and Superman started in the 30's and there legacies have been handed down. For the majority of the Marvel Universe that means they would have started in the sixties, so off hand Peter parker would be pushing sixty right now. Anyone else like this idea?

This idea has occured to me years ago and i thought that in some case that was the assumption in the Marvel and DC universes. But if he wanted to do this for Marvel officially, I'm afraid he'd never get away with it! ; )

Byrne originally got his ideas for 'skipping every so-many years' when he did the Batman/Captain America one-shot. Captain America is a natural choice for a character that's still around after decades because he was in suspended animation. Namor had amnesia during the same period of time. Thor is an Asgardian and is long-lived. Other characters such as Magneto and Nick Fury also have long 'histories' so Byrne probably could pull off a Marvel Generations series if he is in friendly terms with the company.

I love Byrne but I can't make heads or tails of this current Generations series. Maybe it'll make more sense when I have them all and read them

Don't form your judgements from listening to message board posters. On anything.

Yeah, but then it wouldn't be a John Byrne project, but an Alex Ross project. I gave up on the whule Alex Ross 'X' project after the first mini. I would however like to see Byrne's version since I've really enjoyed all three Generations thus far. Just where does Mr Byrne 'hang out' online now?
