Don't know what made me go through two issues before I thought if it, but...
wouldn't his powers more likely work that he could 'absorb' other people's thoughts, abilities and memories into his own body, rather than be able to project his mind into others? Would't that be more in line with the 'Absorbing Man's' powers?

When did he deveolp this power? I always thought he simply absorbed whatever he touched. He was always defeated by the Hulk because he accidently touched a piece of glass, or turned himself into water. Not a very bright fellow. When did he become a telepath?

I'm beginning to wonder if they are going to explain it at all. It doesn't have anything to do with any previously exhibited powers.
And does anybody else think he's being written way out of character? He's never been this devious or even intelligent before that I recall.

Yes. The total lack of similarity between Creed's powers in this story and anything he's done before, and the fact that nobody really seems to be questioning why he would be able to do it, does at present seem like a glaring flaw in the story.

I completely agree. While I do like the idea of the Absorbing Man's powers expanding to 'absorb' thoughts as another form of energy, the feats he's performing here bear no resemblance to his established powers.
It's too bad, because I'm enjoying the story itself...I'd have no complaints if Jones had written the villain as a completely new character, or even used a different established villain who could more plausibly demonstrate these powers (say, for example, Mesmero...putting aside the facts that Mesmero is currently being used in WEAPON X and has no previous connection to the Hulk that I'm aware of).

Has the thought occurred to anyone that the Absorbing Man may have 'absorbed' these new powers and abilities from an as yet unrevealed character?

There's even a caption in there somewhere that describes Creel as (paraphrasing) 'the Hulk's most cunning foe,' which really rings false.
Maybe this was originally a Mad Thinker story, and they changed it to the Absorbing Man to tie it in with the movie?

There is a 93.8 percent chance that that would have been a better story.

This is the same Creel that tried to cure his wife's cancer with aspirin. I wonder how the Abomination, the Leader, and BiBeast feel about that caption.
