Yep. It was the only way I could get the photo past my editor. Of course, that battle came after my column was written.

I think he tries deliberately to make me look bad.

That is a weak distinction, and it ignores numerous indy titles that have gay *lead* characters even if their names aren't in the titles of their books.

Besides, off the top of my head I can recall that the Corinthian, from 'The Sandman,' was depicted as gay during 'The Dreaming' and subsequently had a three-issue miniseries.
