I've posted some breaking news about DC's new push to topple Marvel creatively:

They need to topple sales not creativity. DC sells quite poor per item than Marvel. The only reason for their market share is through sheer force of items per month.

BTW Alan .. if you present news present news, don't present news in form of opinion with the use of terms like 'shit hacks'.

He has a point. We can draw conclusions without having then jammed down our throats.

What was the breaking news? I saw a mixture of old news from San Diego, rumor, speculation, and opinion. No breaking news.

But how does DC snag Bendis? Bendis doesn't seem to mind Jemas co-plotting his books, and a man who can put up with that can put up with anything. (How does Andi Watson put up with it? I wonder, too.)

This keeps up, and the only quality writer Marvel will have will be Bruce Jones, and I bet DC can lure a horror writer like Jones with the promise of a Vertigo series. (Hmmm. Bruce Jones' 'Swamp Thing.' There's an idea.)

JMS is about four or six months into a two-year deal with Marvel. That said, I don't have any real desire to see JMS write any of my favorite DC characters, anyway. Apart from the arc where Aunt May learned that Peter was Spider-Man, I've been underwhelmed by his Marvel work.

Actually, I've been underwhelmed by everything he's written since B5 season 4, excepting 'Midnight Nation.'

Actually, I take that back. The more I think about it, the more I think that JMS's arch, theatrical writing style is better suited to the more iconic characters at DC than to the 'real people' with super powers at Marvel.

Andi Watson previously worked on the licensed title BUFFY. I don't imagine that the interference and approvals at Marvel could be THAT much

Hey, if news anchors and media outlets can opinionate against the President to no end, I think Alan can too. ;p

However, in doing so they cease to be 'reporters' and start to be 'interpreters' or 'commentators'. Objectivity is essential for balanced

I kind of agree, in a team Superman works really well, but my biggest problem with the character is that while in a team he works really well, he just doesn't work on his own, maybe because there are too many Superman titles ( about 10 is it, or have more been developed?) which each writer has to incorporate into their story, and also when they have a crossover, rather than one writer being able to write the story themselves, the story is split amongst alot of writers, and that leads to the story not gelling very well, and characterisation being off in every issue, the annoyance of the different artwork of each book etc. What needs to happen is for his titles to be cut down to a select few, or halved at least. But it will take a great writer (Is it true that Mr Kurt Busiek plans on writing a Superman title?) to make the character interesting again, which is a pity since he is such a huge pop culture icon.
