killing two birds with one stone....

Did anyone else cringe at the end of the latest Daredevil to see Bullseye seems to be adopting the movie look? (which is the reason comic fans get worked up about movie costumes...because they affect the comic books too).

And I didn't see any reaction over the first issue of Kingpin....any thoughts?

Yeh, Bullseye adopted the look as far back as Daredevil: The Target. It was a mini by Kevin Smith, but it never made it pass issue #2...sigh. I enjoyed Kingpin #1. I thought Kingpin had been an established mob figure by the time Spidey begun his career. Consequently, I was surprised with Spidey's appearance in KIngpin #1. The book will probably retcon most of the plot from Man without Fear.

Considering 'Man Without Fear' was never in continuity, their's nothing to fear.

Talking of Man Without Fear, I picked up the complete set in very good condition (bagged and boarded) on eBay for six bucks inc p&p. Good deal? What would the resale value be?

I never caught any of the interviews etc. Why isn't it in continuity? I didn't see anything in it that wasn't in later issues.

Being blinded, Stick, Matt's father's death, the prostitute's death, meeting elektra.

In my opinion it is in continuity. I'd like to know what I missed.

There seems to be two schools of thought on this issue. Some old-school fans don't consider DD:MWF in continuity because it contradicts a few events from the Silver Age DAREDEVIL # 1.

Fans of Frank Miller's Daredevil, on the other hand, consider MWF the definitive origin of DD, meant to replace all previous tellings.

By the way, events in MWF have been referenced in the regular DAREDEVIL title a time or two, although the 'not in continuity' crowd usually claim these references were mistakes.

Thanks alot for the exposition Khan. I grew up on Miller's DD, so I guess that's why I also saw MWF as DD's Year One. I've never been a fan of Gold/Silver age books.

It completely rewrites the sequence of events in Daredevil's origin.

MAN WITHOUT FEAR started off as a story outline for a proposed Daredevil film script; it was never conceived as an in-continuity story. Some confusion arises from a Joe Kelly issue of DAREDEVIL in which an event in MWF was referenced, but nonetheless it seems pretty clear that MWF can't be canon.
