Would a lawyer who is undergoing the type of public scrutiny that Matt Murdock is right now be able to continue to practice law? Would any judge allow him to participate in a case like this? Where is the media during this trial? Why wouldn't Matt simply have Foggy take the case with Matt helping in the background?
This current trial with the White Tiger seems so far fetched. How much of a coincidence is it that a trial like this comes along at the same time that our hero, a vigilante, is undergoing public scrutiny himself?
It's unfortunate, because I was really enjoying this storyline until this issue. The absurdity of having Matt continue to practice law in addition to the 'comic book timeliness' of a trial like this throws me completely out of the 'mood and realism' that Brian Bendis captured up to this point.
I'll see this through to the end, but I can see the comic book cliches bubbling to the surface already ... If the ending disappoints, not only will I discontinue Daredevil (the only reason I was picking it up was because of Bendis, both of whom I discovered at the start of his current run on this title) but I'll have second thoughts before following Bendis to another title.
One good thing about the current issue however, at least the glacial pace Bendis had employed was missing this issue. I do believe there was more storyline packed into this one issue than the last 6 issues combined.

just think of it from white tiger's POV. how many mini-series of b-level heros start with them putting on the costume once again, for what ever reason, and almost immediatly get caught up in those kinds of situations ?
i think he is grounding us back into the marvel u, and i found it

To take the thought a step further, why were Luke and Fist so insistent that Matt is the only lawyer in all of NYC capable of handling the case?
I am assuming that it will turn out to be more than coincidence, especially given the White Tiger's inabilty to explain his out-of-nowhere desire to suit up after years of non-superheroics.

The alternative to Matt is some dispassionate Public Defender from Legal Aid who doesn't much care whether Hector is convicted or not. Street-level superheroes without much in the way of money or resources have to count on one another to watch their backs (Yeah, Danny and Matt are both millionaires, but they don't have the Maria Stark foundation to bail them out. Luke and Hector only have the good will of their somewhat-richer superhero pals).
Luke and Danny know that it's only dumb luck that this terrible thing happened to White Tiger instead of to one of them. They may be rightly curious about how far their fellow superheroes' good will can go when one of their lesser lights falls between the cracks.
