I recently got the DK Ultimate Spider-Man guide a great book that contains lots of information on the Spider-Man comics with character profiles, recaps of classic stories, and other fun facts. I know that DK has published similar books on Superman, Batman, X-Men, and the Justice League. Does anyone have any of these other books and if so are they as good as the Spider-Man book? Will DK produce more of these guides, perhaps ones for The Hulk, Daredevil, The Flash, or Green Lantern?

I have Ultimate X-Men, but not Ultimate Spider-Man (or the others). It's very impressive, and if I had the money I'd probably pick up the other books too. One thing that really annoys me about it, though, is that it has no references. It's got lots of great excerpts of art and stories, but it doesn't say which issues they're from. Coming from a guy with such encyclopedic knowledge as Peter Sanderson, I'm extremely surprised and disappointed by this. It kind of smacks of New Marvel 'let's not go into all those convoluted references' mindset, which is a big mistake for a volume such as this one. But in every other way it's a great book that I have no trouble recommending.

Does the X-Men book include profiles for all the X-Men and their villains?
