While Marvel at least still has letter pages, I'd like to give a shout out publicly to Doubleshot, the ongoing mini-series (??) that has produced some of the best and most affecting stories I've read from Marvel recently. Unlike just about every anthology series before it, these aren't just newcomers cutting their teeth - these are good stories, with good art, that could have meaning to the characters, if the editors are paying attention.

So often to rush to critize, I wanted to give some kudos, and if you haven't taken a look for the usual reasons, maybe you might want to.

Well, the Avengers Simpsons-like story was uninspiring, but Priest's Doom story was good, even if the reporter's motivations for doing what she did at the end were not defined well enough for my tastes.

I'd have to say the opposite. The Doom story started well but the twist ending just didn't work and it just kept playing the same note throughout. But the Avengers story was fun and funny. Really good stuff.
