Exiles #25 (SPOILERS)

Was this a tragic issue or what? Personally I couldn't help but feel the incredible feeling of sadness behind Black Bolt's decision, and then felt it even more when it became clear what Sue had in mind for herself. Winnick captured the reasoning behind Masada very well, and it's exactly what I thought might happen at the end of the last issue. Truly a good story!

Winick outdid himself on this arc. The whole thing was fantastic. If it doesn't win some awards down the line, I will be shocked.

I knew from the ending of the last issue what Black Bolt was going to do, but I never imagined it would affect me the way it did. I teared up a bit, and I don't mind admitting it. The look on Gambit's face when he saw what he had brought about; Black Bolt, alone in the sky, weeping over his fallen people and then unleashing all his rage and sorrow with a single word; Sue's sacrifice... this was just an exceptional story. Best I've read in some time.

I've read some reviews saying that this was a rather weak storyarc, and I was somewhat agreeing with them; this issue killed those opinions dead,

Is this the story that'll be in 'Exiles Vol. 4,' or is it destined for another trade? I haven't tried Exiles yet even though I've been meaning to, and this sounds like a good place to start.

Oh yes, I agree entirely. I'm busy writing my review as I type this, and I mark many of the same things you mention here. The sacrifice is tragic. Monumentally so, and you can literally feel the weight of it upon his shoulders as the story built up to that part. Truly a great ending to this
