Thanks for the feedback. But the point is that Robby at least took the time and effort to write, which is more than I'd say for most. For that I commend him, since I think he understands the spirit of what we're trying to do, whereas you don't.

Logic has nothing whatsoever to do with what Jim was really saying. Jim is one of those handful of groupies that spares no effort to attack me or what we're doing at Comics -N- Such. He, like the others, will never understand because they're too full of hate. And unfortunately, to the detriment of us all, that self-styled attitude effects us all and I think is in large part responsible for pushing people out of our community. People like him aren't capable of looking past his nose to see where his actions are really leading him. Sad.

I find it somewhat suspicious that your response to a post commenting on ideas and approach, misguided as you think those points are, immediately descends into personal attacks. If he's so wrong, then it should be easy to disprove his analysis without attacking him as a person, right? Here, you're just doing what you're accusing him of.

I didn't see any hate in what he was doing, I saw a guy giving feedback. You want people to take your site seriously as a venue for comic news and discussion, and I applaud your efforts, but an ameteurish piece like the column Mr. Longo critiqued is not the way to do it. If Robbie had posted this to your 'forums', it would have been fine. But as a column on a site trying to be taken seriously, it looks out of place. As Jim said, an editor should have stepped in.

And, incidentally, dearheart, the word you're looking for is 'affects'. To 'effect' something is to produce it, to bring it about, to cause it to be, to achieve it, or to accomplish it. Only the first three definitions can be used for two or more people, and, whatever horrible things I've done in the past, I did not produce you.

Not necessarily. Simply writing doesn't get my praise. Writing well, presenting original thoughts, defending your ideas, holding a good discussion... THOSE are the kinds of things I praise.

Either be consistent (and apologize to him) or quit trying to tell us all how we should be behaving if you aren't going to follow your own rules.

I'm sure ... Robby, was it? ... is a big boy who can defend himself, if needed. You're not doing him any favors by trying to protect him. A columnist must learn early how to deal with criticism.
