I'm in a discussion whether Frank Miller intended for Elektra to be alive at the end of the Elektra Saga over in Daredevil, or whether Elektra climbing the mountain was metaphorical. Does anyone have any statement to Miller I could link to?

I think she wan meant to be alive, but to have found peace; hence, the white outfit. I can see where it could be interpreted as metaphorical, and maybe the ambiguity was intentional. I'm guessing Miller wanted to keep her in reserve in case he ever wanted to do more with her character.

Frank Miller has gone on record saying that, in his mind, Elektra is DEAD. He does not acknowledge Marvel's returning her to life.

Right. But HE was the one that showed her alive post-climb up the mountain, in the Elektra Lives Again graphic novel. She died at the end of THAT, which is a separate and later thing entirely from what was being asked about.
