Does anyone have any idea which Hulk animation Buena Vista is putting out on DVD next week? Every source I've looked at says something different. One says it's the '60s eps, another says some of the '60s eps will be included as extras (suggesting this isn't the main subject of the disc), and so forth. What is actually being released on that disc next week?

According to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/releaseinfo.cfm? ReleaseID=2436 it's four episodes of the 1982 series and the first episode of the original 1960s animated series. There was similar confusion in the press releases surrounding the first Spider-Man DVD, and that was the 1960s origin episode mixed with new episodes, as well.

Also, it seems that it's out on June 17, not June 10. (This week has the releases of two DVDs from the live-action series, too.)

Curious, I had understood that it was four episodes of the 90's series, not '82. Looking at that site, I see they only say it 'appears to be' the 80's series. I would wager they're wrong.

See, for those unaware, Buena Vista/Disney bought out Saban Entertainment in the last year, and has ownership of their entire back catalogue of shows. For all their other movie tie-in releases ('Spider-Man: Ultimate Villain Showdown,' 'Spider-Man: Return of the Green Goblin,' 'Daredevil vs. Spider-Man,' 'X-Men: The Legend of Wolverine', they used episodes from the assorted 90's Saban series. I don't see why they'd break step with this release.

You may be right. I asked Gord Lacey (who runs the site) about the first Spider-Man release, and he forwarded the press release to me. It said that the 1960s pilot would be included as a bonus, and it mentioned which villains Spider-Man would be facing in the other episodes without specifying which series those episodes were coming from. We couldn't figure out which series it was until it hit store shelves.

Out of sheer coincidence, I actually happened to buy that DVD this week, as I saw it on sale for half-price. Yeah, only a year late. ^^ Not exactly a sterling selection of episodes... logical choices, just not good episodes. I'm in the UK, though, and we didn't get the 60's episode - instead, we got the 90's episode, 'Return of the Green Goblin,' which, if I understand correctly, was a bonus episode on the R1 release of the next Spider-Man DVD, which shared said episode's name. Unusual, that...
