Marvel's done it again! They've announced a series by a writer whose work I really like - in this instance Karl Kesel - then put an artist on the book whose work I can't look at without wanting to throw up. See Newsarama for details. Waaaaaaaay too cartoony. This was a series I had high hopes for, but that artwork is too big a turn off for me, a deal-killer. Guess I won't be buying this series after all. Bummer.

IMHO this poses an interesting question. What wrtiers do you consider to be so good that horrible art is forgotten? For me it is:

Geoff Johns Roger Stern Peter David David Lapham ( I know he pretty much does all his own work but his art work isn't somehting I would want to see outside of his Stray Bullets) And LAstly, Karl Kesel

I have to entirely agree with you. That's 3 bucks a month that Marvel sure ain't getting from me. Despite Kesel's name being a draw for me.

Silver Surfer? What? Where?? I don't recall a Silver Surfer comic with that terrible art (and I'm a religious collector of all things Cosmic Marvel).

No kidding. I looked at all five of the new comics and immediately knew that I wouldn't be buying any of them. Not only do none of the characters interest me in the least, but the ones I might try look like they were drawn by a 12-year old.

After the Infinity Gauntlet crossover there was a bunch of random titles with horrible art. One I can think of off the top of my head was the Infinity Crusade crossover where Surfer fought Wonderman and Storm.
