When did Incredible Hulk get cancelled.
It's been awhile now that the Hulk hasn't been appearing in comics and I was wondering if Incredible Hulk has been cancelled. Another book with the same title seems to have been published for a while now, but I think that is a X-file rip-off of some kind. Has anybody heard about future plans for a Hulk comic by Marvel??

The Hulk's series is *still being published*. I just picked up the latest issue last week, and it doesn't show any signs of stopping anytime soon, thanks be. Especially not with Stuart Immonen on the artwork nowadays!

SO?????
I still find the direction boring no matter what others (a lot apparently) think in regards to this being a Hulk comic.
The stories may be good, but they are not about the hulk or based on the concept of the hulk.
They are as someone stated somewhere 'the fugitive meets the x-files' and could have been done as a comic on its own instead of sacrificing the hulk comic that still would have sold.
So you would actually have 2 comics instead of sacrificing 1.

I must say this series of Hulk is the first I have read in ages and I am enjoying it. I can see where it might bother someone since the Hulk is not around that much. But I think the tension of the situations he has been in lately more than make up for it.
What was your favorite Hulk story that featrured a lot of the Hulk?

The Peter David issue merging the green and grey hulk to the proffessor (I think it was #372). It was very good and an example of how hulk can be done without the 'hulk smash' concept and have Banner at the center of things (just like the Bruce Jones run), but incorperating the concept of the hulk(s) so much better.
My all time favourite though is 'Future Imperfect'. NOW THATS THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

Hello, Michael Jørgensen!
To use your own words.. SO?????
A lot of people DO think its an interesting Hulk comic thats what the sales figures are showing. You don't like it, don't read it.
sacrificing the hulk
A comci which was apparently selling abysmally. Nothing was sacrificed. This is still clearly a Hulk comic, he is a driving force in every story so far.
A large part of each story is connected to Banner and Hulk and how they interact. Not to mention other people's fear of the Hulk.
I have no idea where you get the X-Files idea from because none of these stories have any significant X-Files elements in them.
Criticising these stories for 'the Hulk not being there' is to miss a huge chunk of what these stories are about.
Now if what you mean to say is 'I like Hulk stories where he fights supervillains and smashes stuff.' Fair enough, but thats totally different to claiming that this isn't a book about the Hulk.
Except that you wouldn't. Because the Hulk was in trouble sales wise and Marvel has a limited number of creators to spread around.

Welcome to the next step in comic books characters evolution... Ultimate Hulk, Extreme Hulk, Savage Hulk, Hulk Evolution... Unfortunately...
Every title will get re-booted every few months, every dead character will come back to life and get killed again and come back to life and get killed again and come back to life.
Every interesting old or new character or title or every second-string character classic or not will not last long and will get canceled
even the Hulk !!!
Not a storyline will have a lasting effect anymore...
Sad, huh ?
Marvel must put the X-Men in a back seat (figuratively speaking) and classic characters to the forefront.
I was a Wolverine fan from the beginning when he was trying to nail Nightcrawler but now since he is a big STAR he's just ok...
How can Gambit be more of a STAR than Nightcrawler ? Thanks to the X-Men The Movie crew who understood that I guess.

No, all the sales figures show is that a lot of people have bought it. SCOOBY DOO did very well at the box office, but I don't know anyone who actually liked it. Now, a lot of people do seem to like the new HULK book, but we can't say that the sales figures necessarily show this. I've continued to buy the comic out of an odd sense of loyalty (INCREDIBLE HULK being one of the first books I read) but have decided to stop after this issue. Heretofore, however, I was part of those sales figures even though I did not like the book. I also wonder if the people who have migrated to the Jones run are not Hulk fans per se, but fans of the horror genre and people who will leave when Jones goes, no matter who replaces him.
As for low sales before, Jenkins' run wasn't that much better than now, especially at the end. His only good issue was the fight between Hulk and the Abomination (#25) which even managed to include recognizable character development.
Are we reading the same comic? The Hulk is *not* the driving factor in the book right now. He's nothing more than a plot contrivance, something that exists only to give the mysterious agents a reason to hound the on-the-run Banner. The Hulk has no personality (it evidently went away with his hair) and Banner doesn't even seem to have too much trouble controlling it
