I never realized it until a friend pointed out that Hulk originally had 6 issues, and then picks up again with #102 in the seventies.
What title was it before it became the Hulk again?

Tales To Astonish, issues 59-101. 102 had the title switch to The Incredible Hulk.

Note that HULK didn't change to TTA and then back. HULK only lasted six issues, the last one dated March 1963. He co-starred with Giant Man in TTA #59 (September 1964), then shared half the title first with Giant Man and then Sub-Mariner. According to CBG Presents Hulk (which is where I'm getting all this from), Marvel was distributing through a company affiliated with DC, which wouldn't let them expand their title count. When they got out of it in 1968, they split all their double-character titles into two. Some (Hulk) lasted longer than others (Sub-Mariner).
