Well, the problem with this is that they're not going to get very accurate figures. There are bound to be stores that are still sitting on stock from last year's sale on this volume who would've ordered the book if they didn't have that stock. A new volume would give far more accurate figures. If they hadn't blown out their stock last year I'd agree. I also agree that this is risky, but I think in the context of DC as a whole, it's not going to bankrupt them. And if it is a disaster, maybe PaulLevitz will think twice before he decides to pulp something again. I see that as a far bigger waste of the company's money.

I don't know. Time is relative. I'm so old that 'the last few years' seems like weeks to me.

I was thinking of Magneto, Colussus, and some other vague recollections I had. It's just a sore spot with me, and has led to me cutting back drastically on books from both companies (though admittedly more from DC).
