They decided to keep JMS on the ongoing and give Smith another mini-series after he's done with this one. Marvel recognizes, and Smith agrees, that his inability to maintain a schedule is unacceptable in a flagship title.

Why it's considered acceptable in other titles is beyond me. The guy writes good stuff that I'll continue buying, but what's wrong with getting him to finish a miniseries before soliciting any issues?

I hope this is wrong. You(generally speaking) may not like the idea of it even as a story point but once it's put in there it needs to be explored.Otherwise it comes off as just silly(Spidey saves the day at the very last second!).

Being an Alan Scott fan is alot like being a pagan in america...you know others exist but you never see them on tv.

Well, maybe you didn't, but it was definitely around. Go to groups.google.com and under Advanced Search search on 'Camelot 3000' for the newsgroup net.comics (r.a.c.'s predecessor before the Great Renaming) from, say, the default 1981 beginning date through around 1985. See posts on Camelot 3000 from folk such as Kevin Maroney, Jeff Meyer, and Jerry Boyajian. Along with comments on the delay, and learning that somehow the rest of the country got #11 a week before Seattle and Jeff did.

I have a great sense of humor. It just doesn't run along the lines of sophomoric mysogyny.

You're taking this way too seriously. Close the comics once in a while and walk outside. There's a whole world out there.

Like you'd know. Anyone who would make a joke like that probably spends way too much time alone is his room.

I just reread 'Ultimate Daredevil and Elektra' this weekend. If they can handle a rape there, they should be able to handle one in a Spider-book. Backing out now would just pull the punch and demean the work already done. As long as the book has the appropriate cover rating, and rape is treated as the ugly and evil act it is, Smith should be able to write the story he was commissioned to write.
