Has anyone on this group seen it yet? I'd like to know if people who like comics liked it.

I was very disappointed in it. I think they had great source material, but somebody with creative control either didn't understand why it was great, or decided they wanted something less likely to offend fans of the original source, or decided they wanted the heroes more heroic, etc. It should have been much, much better.

You know...I really enjoyed it. It was not academy award winning material and the comic is much better, but for just pure visual summer entertainment it is worth the price.
So many hated the film, but I just kicked back with a bucket of popcorn and enjoyed the show. I'd definitely go see this one again before I forked down cash on Bad Boys II.

I liked it. Sure there were some inconsitencies, but I felt tha since we are dealing with a fantasy world of a fantasy world with tech and innovation gone rampant, I was able to accept that maybe Venice had deeper channels than our Venice, just like I was able to believe that the Chunnel was built above ground in the comic.

Good points. I just looked at the film as pure fantasy. I really enjoyed some of the characters...especially the Invisible Man and Hyde (who I thought looked better than the Hulk.)

I saw this movie at the Drive-In and felt this was the perfect venue. The movie was pure, escapist fantasy summer Drive-In fare.
I enjoyed the movie. Of course, the comic version was much better and the movie was dumbed down quite a bit but once I realized that this movie wasn't so much an adaptation as simply something inspired by the source material...I just kicked back with my popcorn and large coke and went with the flow.
Some of the action scenes were a bit on the fast side...even for a movie like this...could've slowed it down a bit. And yeah, Hyde looked better than the Hulk.
