Argentinian artist Jorge Lucas has informed X-Fan that he will be departing as regular series artist of Mystique as of the fledgeling Tsunami title's sixth issue in September. Lucas will be moving over to Iron Man, joining that series' new writer John Jackson Miller with October's issue #73.

Drat. I was quite glad to see him on Mystique. Moving to a book I have no real interest in upsets me a bit.........but at least he's finding regular work. Despite other people's complaints, I quite like his art.

Probably not. I'm starting to think Marvel is into catchy last names. I mean, c'mon, 'Miller'. Marvel can have so much fun with that name to help sell comics. And look at The Authority with Robbie Morrison. Did this strategy work with DC/Wildstorm by using the 'Morrison' hanger. I'm sure neither Marvel nor DC would admit to this tactic, but c'mon.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but a relatively unknown writer getting to write for a lucrative comics title sounds like a risk that neither Marvel nor DC would be willing to take without some sort of marketing strategy behind.
