I was re-reading my Origins of the Hobgoblin series the other night but it never did reveal who was behind the mask. Can someone confirm for me it was Harry Osbourn?

Depends on when, but the answer is never Harry Osborn, who is/was the second Green Goblin. For a while they revealed it was Ned Leeds. Then it was supposed to be Jason Macendale (who at one time was Jack O'Lantern), and in the end it was revealed that fashion mogul Roderick Kingsley was the original Hobgoblin, who hypnotized Ned Leeds into thinking he was the Hobgoblin, and then set him up to die. This was a long and convoluted story, but that's the answer.

Actualy, I think it was everybody except Harry....

It was Flash Thompson, then whatsit Kingsly then about half a dozen other people including Ned Leeds (IIRC)

Can't remember who it was meant to be cos I lost interest after about the third rehash...

As per normal I discovered a 'Hobgoblin Unmasked' issue 10 mins after making the posting and it was indeed Ned Leeds on this occasion. I'm getting all my characters and back issues mixed up!

Cheers anyway guys!

in the third movie(if HobGoblin is in it), it would make more sense to have Harry Osborn as The HobGoblin. I mean, the guy's father(The Green Goblin, Norman Osborn) was killed by Spider-man and Harry says in the end of the first film that Spider-man will pay. Now, in part 3, Harry should find his dad's old mask and discover that his father was the bad guy, The Green Goblin. He uses his dad's old gear and becomes 'The Hobgoblin' to get back at Spider-man(because Harry is more powerful in the gear of course). It would make more sense than having a second green goblin and all of that, and, afterall, who would want to see another Green Goblin who looks exactly like the first? We need new villians, and by the time the third rolls around, I think many people will want to see another villian like the Goblin flying around on a 90 mph goblin glider laughing a frightening laugh(HobGoblin's laugh is freaking evil) and throwing small bombs(pumpkins). Because, if its a trilogy, then everyone knows that the third is all about going back to the first in nature. I personally would like to see Hob and Carnage working together in Spidey

2117.public.lawson.webtv.net:

Harry Osborne became the second Green Goblin, not the Hobgoblin.

I can't imagine them doing another goblin-o-centric film when they have so many other villains they could use, it would be too samey when people have already seen the first film. I imagine they've set Harry up to become the Green Goblin so they can use him as a secondary villain in a later film with multiple foes (a la the Batman films).

We want The Spot and The Walrus for Spider-Man 3!!!

Harry would either have to go through the same process his father did to gain the strength, not to mention the insanity, or find some other way to enhance his abilities.
