How about creating a major storyline in the Marvel Avengers books and then have another storyline in the Dc Justice League books, then have teamup between the individual characters of both companies in one book, then when the teamups are done have one teamup with both teams together for sequel book!

LET'S ROCK!!

Nah - I think what he's suggesting is a cross over in the on-going books. If my fading memory doesn't fail me now I think something like that was suggested a few years back - but Mr Busiek would know about that than I

You know, you could do something like that. Have elements in each set of books that set up the crossover in the mini, but don't actually have anything that is conclusively cross-company until the mini.

That way, for those who care, it could be assumed that events resolved themselves in a non-crossover way in each 'non-crossover' reality, in addition to being resolved by a crossover in the 'crossover' reality (which is the only version we actually see).

Well it was done way back in the 70's with the Halloween Rutland cross overs, that ran in a few Marvel and DC titles, with the same secondary characters and themes...

But the JLA/Avengers thing was that both teams would cross over in the regular monthly books and then go back to normal. I guess they could always use Access in order to get there and back.

Just when I was starting to get use to the heat.

In a previous post I made some assine comment about George and all of his suggestions, but this one suggestion cancels out all of his bad ones.

The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways.

This certainly sounds better than the 'omnipotent being forces superheroes to fight each other' premise, or the 'misunderstanding causes superheroes to fight each other' premise.

Isn't that (sort of) how 'Law & Order' and 'Homicide' did their crossovers?

Well, both premises are cliche, but I don't see anything wrong with the 'omnipotent being forces superheroes to fight each other' premise, especially in gimmick storylines like Secret Wars or Contest of Champions or inter-comic crossovers.

Being omnipotent doesn't mean you have to be smart, after all.
