I'd go with the Overstreet price guide myself, as most retailers price their back issues according to that, from what I've seen, rather than Wizard's prices.

Yep, Overstreet is a better guide. Also if my ecomomics minor still applies, the real value of anything is where a seller is willing to sell it for and where a buyer is willing to buy it for. For that a quick check of ebay can give you ideas for value as well.
The key to valuation though of comics is knowing how to grade a comic.
