It'll NEVER happen. One interesting idea to come out of 'Heroes Reborn' was the 'Atomic Knights of the Roundtable' concept of the big minds of the Marvel universe crossing one anothers paths during their higher education years. Sure it is a bit implausible but it could make an interesting premise for a tv series ala Smallville or even X-Men Evolution to some extent. Reed Richards (and by extension Ben Grimm), Hank Pym, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner and Doom (as the character doomed to villainy ala Luthor in Smallville) take a page from the Ultimates and you can have Janet VanDyne there too with Betty Ross,,hell throw in T'Challa as an exchange student from Wakanda taking the measure of what the best of American education has to offer.

It has possibilities but... IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN.

That's because all of the major Marvel heroes live in New York. TRY and think of an original Marvel town, ala DC's Smallville, Metropolis, Gotham, Central City, Coast City, Star City, Paradise Island?

The closest Marvel has to a major superhero who has grown up slowly developing powers is the most unexpected hero:

Thor of ... ASGARD.

'Dad, do I gotta?'

'Boy, don't make chop a switch from ysgmmrgh(sp) and tan your hide.'

'Ha, ha, Thor gotta do chose.'

'Loki, don't tease your brother.'

'Yes, pa.'

Actually, there is a Central City in the Marvel Universe also. See Fantastic Four 293.

And one of the biggest failings in an otherwise good show in Smallville, was that it had the villain of the week episodes. Granted, that's what you have to have for Clark to fight the villains and showcase his powers, but it is contrived.

It would have been nice if they had ARCs of supervillains. It saves on villains, and creates greater challenges for Clark. The most interesting villains have been Lex

And upon further consideration, since you mentioned Paradise Island, shall we count Atlantis and Attilan? How about Latveria, Wakanda, Symkaria, Transia, etc.?

And may I recommend the Marvel Atlas Project (www.aub.dk/~henckel/map.html)?
