I just remembered that recent Newsarama article on ASTRO CITY, in which it was said that the upcoming 12-issue arc 'The Dark Ages' grew out of the story that was initially supposed to be the MARVELS sequel, a few years back.

So, unless EYE OF THE CAMERA came about in an immensely rushed and unexpected fashion, and 'The Dark Ages' is being re-formatted once again in favor of it (which I doubt), it looks like we will be getting two different versions of MARVELS II next year, in a sense.

Where Kurt explains that 'The Dark Ages' grew out of a story which was originally supposed to be the MARVELS sequel, and that EYE OF THE CAMERA (the *actual* MARVELS sequel), grew out of a story which was originally supposed to be an epilogue to MARVELS.

So, on balance, what we're essentially getting, 'in a sense,' are two different versions of the sequel. Which is pretty much what I presumed, now, isn't it?

That said, thank you for the link

I'm too lazy to reread but seems to me that Kurt said that The Dark Ages (Astro City) is based on what was to be Marvels II, but that EotC was another story set to be after Marvels II... I Don't remember the details but when I read it it seemed pretty clear they were 2 differents stories since the very beginning.

You're most welcomed... Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh, I was merely correcting you, not accusing you (though it made me more-than-blink that you could think Kurt was doing that... his integrity is quite a given by now).

THUNDERBOLTS and BLACK

Speaking for myself, I never was disapointed with Kurt, even though i prefer some things more than others (and I'm happy now, Astro City is finally coming back!!! Thanks Kurt I so much missed it ; by the way I loved Local Heroes #2, what a take on Lois and Supes relationship!!!)

Hey Kurt,

Speaking of the MII series. Your artist. Does he happen to live in Sydney Aust? I was in line at a Con last year when this guy was showing Mark Millar his art which seemed to be published from Image and looked very much like this guys art work. Had a chat to him and seemed really nice. Can't remember his name though. Figured you'd tell me if this is the same guy or not.

So we ask who for the info? Kang? Immortus? Scarlet Centurion?

As you can see.......and to be perfectly honest.......I've just plum forgotten what you did in AVENGERS FOREVER. Going upstairs to read it all over again now, sir. ;p

I'm running a little slow, but I just realized this series could potentially mention the Dire Wraith invasion (Worldmerge at the least). However, I'm not holding my breath. My impression (and I'm not sure why I have it) is that Kurt Busiek isn't much of a Rom fan.

I'd like to see two events in EotC for opposite reasons.

1) The Casket of Ancient Winters. (I think that's the name.) Simply because its effect was shown in so many Marvel comics. (Well, ROM and WEST COAST AVENGERS (vol. 1) anyway.) I think it's something long-time fans would see and say, 'hey, I'd forgotten about that.'

2) Worldmerge (from ROM). Because it was a major event that *wasn't* mentioned across titles. (FF and DR. STRANGE were it, AFAIK.) I'd like to see the average Joe's perception of it.

I don't suppose we could squeeze in Godzilla's trip across the country, too? 8)

And lastly, someone help me out. Did Inferno come before or after Fall of the Mutants?

After. Mutant Massacre, then Fall of the Mutants, then Inferno, and so on and so forth.
