I've always thought that Thor was pretty uninteresting for the huge push he gets. He's the HHH of Marvel, complete with sledgehammer.

I've never been interested in the Thor titles, the character interests me none. He does get a lot of hype though. For some reason, when I think of Thor I think of his appearance in one of those old 80's Hulk

Thor is incredibly interesting in the rights hands, like Simonson and Warren Ellis. (Jurgens has a good idea going right now, but I've never cares for his ability to execute even the best idea.)
No. The most overrated Marvel character is Gambit, and the answer is so conclusive as to not be open to discussion.

Wolverine. Not until Jackman portrayed him in the movie did I find him the least bit interesting. And that interest is confined solely to the movies.

Thankfully, he's with Xtreme X-Men now (sometimes) and not being shoved down our throats anymore.

What is a HHH?
Anyway, all things considered, Thor is an interesting concept, albeit often an ill-handled one. He is quite literally an archetypical hero; a curious mix of modern man (originally a man of science, even!) and god of the past, complete with two sets of supporting characters.
At times it seems that he is _too_ interesting a concept for its own good. Ever since Avengers V1 #149 we have been wondering whether there is really a point in having him with the Avengers. Much like Kid Flash with the Marv Wolfman New Titans, Thor often has to be stymied in order to let his comrades look good.
A related problem is that he _is_ rather hard to write correctly; juggling his mortal identity (if any), his superheroing urges and his godly shores is not trivial. And I guess he is not the best character to identify with.
Really, when I saw the subject line, I assume we would talk about Wolverine - now _that_ is an overrated character...
Best, Luis.

Rucka's new book is interesting. Which proves that given the right writer, any character can be good.
For me, the most over-rated character at Marvel is Bill Jemas. Heck, they made him President!

Triple H, aka Hunter Hearst Helmsley, aka Paul Levesque, is a professional wrestler. He's tall, blond, and quite muscular. Often offered as a possible casting choice for any filmed version of the character of Thor.

Triple H is the WWE's World Heavyweight Champion. (The name is a hangover from when he used to be called Hunter Hearst Helmsley.)
HHH is, for some unfathomable reason, usually booked as completely invincible. Quite why the WWE think that an invincible villain dominating Raw for months on end is good television, even in the face of declining ratings, is open to debate. A popular theory among fans is that it may be not unconnected with the fact that he's engaged to the boss's daughter.
