Now I know truly that he is an idiot, Levitz knows what he is doing, probably told the truth, that Millar is a poor writer. And for all those who didn't like Waid's FF, his looks set to be truly awful.

I think Millar could pull it off. As he mentions in the interview, Millar has developed a knack for thinking outside the box. There's something about the Fantastic Four that's inherently dated. As good as many of the creators of the book have been, and I've enjoyed many, the book often reads like a big valentine to Lee/Kirby rather than something fresh and new. I think its difficult to get the book to that point because everything there is to say
in their and reinvent it from the roots and through nostalgia to the wind. Millar might be just the guy to do it.

except the Authority was the biggest selling DC comic at the time, on the back of Warren Ellis, and improved on those sales when Millar took over.
And if Levitz knew what he was doing I think we'd be seeing much better DC sales. The only reason DC has close to the market share of Marvel's is because they have something like twice the number of titles.

Second-best-selling, after JLA, surely?

Not even close. Despite all the hype, The Authority was never a huge seller. Looking at its sales, it appeared to have peaked at around the 40,000 mark. JLA, even now, with interest in the series pretty low, sells close to 60,000.

Before Levitz and the gang decided to rape it to death, it was Wildstorm's top seller, and had, at it's height, become DC's fourth best-selling title (and, was the one of the best team books the medium has ever produced). DC's behavior with regard to the book was discraceful.

Levitz was the idiot for being so overly concerned with the idea of having a gay couple in a comic book.
As for the Ultimate FF, he doesn't even say anything about it so how can you say it looks set to be truly awful?
Don't get me wrong, I won't be buying it.

Tho I haven't heard anything of it, judging on his other work, like the Ultimates and X-men ( X-men was good, but Ultimates just went for shock value and not really much else), I just see him going for shock tactics with the characters, and having some ideas which may not be liked by alot of fans. Plus it may possibly come off as re-hashed, as in the feel of the book may be like the other titles he writes, original changes could have been made but may not ( like the team could be made up of different people, not Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny, but entirely different people) and the female characters will just sound all the same.
Maybe I kind of overdid it with the 'truly awful' bit, but I doubt it will be good, or at least stay good after 6 issues. But that YoungBlood series with Rob Liefeld? Now that looks 'Truly Awful'.

Um, was Levitz not aware that his own 'baby' (LSH) had a gay couple in it? Disregarding the Element Lad/Shvaughn/Sean Erin thing, there was also Shrinking Violet and Lightning Lass.
