Batman gets punched a lot, but he is wearing kevlar under his costume, which supposedly explains why bullets don't hurt him. After all, this is comic book science we're dealing with here. The real question is how come nobody's ever aimed their guns at the exposed portion of his face. I can't recall him being knocked through a wall any time recently...

As for Spider-Man, he has the proportional strength of a spider. He has been shown lifting small cars over his head. If you take the sci-fi leap of faith that he's that strong to begin with, then it's really not a stretch to assume that he's got the toughness to take some pretty major hits.

Bullets don't kill him. Even wearing kevla r a bullet is going to punch pretty hard.

Well part of the explanation of his costume was that the bright yellow chest panel would draw fire there and away from his face. Besides shooting a moving target is dicey enough when you're aiming at center mass. Hittingg someones head is a pretty hard thing to do. As for gettign thrown through a wall unless it's made of something really flimsy like fabric, glass, or real cheap plaster you just can't throw a person through a wall.

It's still comics so exagerration comes with the territory. Actually, it's not just a comics thing; lots of action movies feature 'ordinary' people taking hits that would cause very serious injury to people in the real world to little or no effect.

Like when they are falling, of a mountain or high building, and grab hold of a ledge or something and remained unharmed, even though if that happened really you could dislocate your shoulders quite easily, depending on speed of fall.
