Other than what's been printed in Previews and the other information on Newsarama/Pulse... no. But Beside that I'm wondering why the cancellation of Peter Parker just to turn around and launch Spectacular Spiderman at all. I certainly don't understand Marvel's logic on this one. Particularly since they're keeping the same artists who's pencilling the current Peter Parker series. His art is what turned me off to Peter Parker, so I'm certainly not going to look into Spectacular Spiderman. But if someone can explain to me the logic behind what Marvel is doing I'd sure appreciate it.

Last year's Green Goblin arc by Humberto Ramos was the highest-selling run of issues PETER PARKER had seen in a while. By giving Jenkins and Ramos a new title, Marvel hope to expand on that potential. Not a bad move, financially, I would guess.

But why the need to cancel the current run to do that? That's what makes no sense to me personally. Why not allow them to continue the Peter Parker title?

It's a new number one to attract more buyers I suppose, a bit like all the new number ones a few years back when they cancelled the majority of the long runnuing titles (FF, Spidey, Iron Man, Thor etc)

According to Rich Johnson, Marvel will be reverting to the original numbering, starting with what will be 'Fantastic Four' No. 500.
I just wish they'd make up their minds.

That really can be the only explanation in my mind as well. It amounts to nothing more than gimmickry. The same crud that turned so many off in the 90's, and Marvel was the predominant participant in that type of activity. Comics -N- Such (http://www.comicsnsuch.com)

Marc-Oliver Frisch mentioned:
Maybe not- but did the arc sell based on the creative team. If it's the arc i am thinking of, I bought it INSPITE of the art just to see the next step in the Spidey/Goblin story. And I came away from that disappointed.
So I can see their logic if they think the Goblin arc sold on the strength of the creative team. I personally think the logic is faulty and counter intuitive, though.
