Hi all,

It seems to me that somewhere in the 1970's or 1980's, Pocket Books published reprints of Marvel Titles in paperback book form. I seem to recall owning a Spiderwoman PB, a Dr. Strange and a Hulk. Am I imagining things or did Pocket reprint Marvel titles at one time?

Wow, I remember those as well, but for some reason I only kept my Marvels. (Well, I always was more of a Marvel fan as a kid.)

I had Wonder Woman, Legion, and I think World's Finest.

I remember the WW book had the story of how she got the invisible plane. I recall a scene in a petrified forest.

And the Legion had the famous story (and cover) where the three Legionnaires are judging Superboy.

I had the Spider-Man and Hulk books. Now all I have left are the Conan one's. I have six Conan's but the last one said that a 7th Conan would be coming out. Does anyone know if that 7th one was ever publish?

Was the Hulk one with Silver Surfer who comes across an unconscience Hulk and says he will drain the harmful energies but Hulk wakes up and they fight?

The second Hulk paperback reprinted the later stories from his run in Tales to Astonish. One of those stories (from Tales to Astonish #92-#93) featured a slugfest with the Silver Surfer, though it did not begin the way you described - the Hulk sees an object flying in the sky and jumps up to meet it, only to discover it's the Surfer. Fisticuffs then ensue.

I can't answer your question, but <nostalgia> that was one of the first comics I ever got. Not the original issue, but the reprint in Marvel Super Heroes #48 (1975). Here's another idea for a thread: How many times has the Hulk nearly been cured but lost out on it because of some fluke? I remember for a long time it was suggested that Rom's neautralizer could do it, but I forget what happened when they finally met.
