When I wrote the review for Hulk #50 last month my final comments were complimentary to Bruce Jones for setting up what looked like a good story run. I’m happy to report I wasn’t wrong because the plot certainly thickens this issue. And if you can believe it, the story becomes even more interesting and riveting. Jones gives us a further glimpse into the level of manipulation and planning the shadowy group utilize in their quest to capture the Hulk. Actually it’s still a little unclear whether their goal is to capture or kill the Hulk, but either way the fact remains that these people are down right sleazy. More than that, this group is malignant. If anything this issue treated us to a display of just how malignant they are and how encompassing their planning and deception truly is.

I have just read this comic for the fourth time. You know, I'm really enjoying this story. Everytime you think you start to get a handle on things Jones sets things right back on their ear. If you ask me, this story should be a show case in the debate regarding costumed heroes beating on costumed villains every issue. This story is great!

Your enthusiasm speaks well of the book. I tried Jones minimalist run and didn't like it. And I had a complete Hulk run up until issue 43 or so. Different strokes, etc.

Exactly and I think that's the crux of the discussion. You can't have have endless super-hero beats super-villain issues. Likewise you can't have endless stories such as these either.

I don't believe he's mutated... he sure is huge and sure is muscle bound... you should at least check out the last two issues #50/51 and see what you think about them. The story is really rather interesting. Reminds me strongly of all the best spy thriller dramas I've seen over the years.

Yeah, I've been picking it up since #46. It is really good...just haven't seen The Abomination looking like that before.
