Review - Wolverine #186

I hesitated the past couple days on writing this review, but finally decided late last night to go ahead with it. I hesitated because I try to follow the axiom that if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. But following that too closely would tend to make me overly selective in my weekly reviews. I decided I needed to review the issues I’ve pre-selected at the beginning of each week and just call em as I see em. Well, unfortunately Wolverine #186 is at best a mediocre story with sub-par art. In fact I honestly didn’t see a reason for this story, other than Marvel’s marking time till the reboot hits Wolverine in a couple more months.

Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .So Wolverine wins because he finds out Frank is in the closet? Jesus Marvel, grow the hell up.

You know I sat there for a while and pondered why they would even run that undercurrent in the issue to begin with. It's like they just pasted that plot device on over the story... it was an after thought. Total waste of space and very caddish.

Allow me to make a prediction.

Editors, knowing that a Punisher movie is in pre-production, and his core audience are mainstream fanboys who feel more comfortable with a fully realised hetro character (despite the only other character that gets less is Batman), will make sure that not only will Frank have several femme fatales coming after him, but Wolverine will be put through an even further wringer than before ...
