I too felt that the film was short, as did my friends (they were wanting more), but I didn't gett he feeling that it was choppy or even that major scenes were left out. I felt that it had a nice, consistent flow to it. It felt really condensed to me and I kept telling my friends that they took years of DD comics and compressed them into the movie. I thought that they did ok. The pacing was good and all, but I think that they could have gotten away with a much longer movie without losing the audience because the story would have been compelling enough for it.

I just assumed that they got an anonymous tip or something. Speaking of which, why was Urich there? He had no reason to be there unless he had uncovered enough evidence to convince the authorities that Fisk was the Kingpin perhaps?

I felt that it was more a matter of respect than anything else, definitely not guilt though. It seemed that he appreciated what Murdock was doing. One man trying to make a difference and clean up the streets. The city needs that and Urich understood that DD was the man for the job so long as he doesn't step out of line I would assume, despite the whole rapist/train thing at the beginning (maybe he figured DD had a bad day this one time and could let it slide, just this once, lol).

I think I may have felt more comfortable with this movie if I had been a life long Daredevil reader like alot of viewers were. I definitely agree that the story was compelling enough to add an extra half hour or something. Maybe give Elektra more screen time; the love story seemed a tad....brief. I just couldn't buy that Matt would feel this way about a girl he barely knew. Like I said, if the love story had been supplemented by knowledge from the comics, it may have worked.

Well, a missing 'anonymous tip' scene makes the movie a tad choppy for me And you make a good point; Ulrich had little else to do, they could have added an 'uncover Fisk as the Kingpin' subplot. What kind of role does Ulrich play in the comics? Is he even in the comics?

Related to this: one of my friends who *does* keep track of the comics mentioned the 'the Kingpin' is sort of like Wilson Fisk's secret identity. They briefly touched upon this aspect in the movie ('Kingpin, man or myth?', but I felt they should have explored this a bit more. I remember the 'Lois and Clark' TV show - Lex Luthor was a criminal but no one really suspected it until later.

As it was, I felt the Kingpin was kinda like Beast or Toad from the Xmen movie - he didn't have much to do except look scary. At least in the Xmen movie, we know something of why Magneto acts the way he does. The Kingpin is supposed to be Daredevil's nemesis. He deserves at least as much screen time as an insane freak with a circle on his forehead.

(I *did* enjoy Bullseye, I just wished they told us where he got that freaky carving on his forehead. I hear that the character himself stayed pretty true to the comic. And I don't think he should have displaced the Kingpin. Hell, maybe they're just trying to save something for a sequel.)

I dunno...there was one scene where the police dude (forgot his name - the one that said 'There is no evidence that Daredevil even exists) berates Ulrich for. Ulrichs look guilt stricken to me. I happen to like Joe Pantoliano, so I wish he had goten more screen time as well.

Okay, so Kingpin, Elektra, and Ulrich should have gotten more screen time. I guess, in other words, the movie should have been longer, lol.
