Today is 12-24-01 and here is the latest gathering of facts and highly probable items for the new upcoming Spiderman movie.

1. Web shooters?

Yes, but not the old all machine and chemical type. Now the fluid is bio produced in pete's mutated body but he uses his knowledge of engineering to devise a mechanized wrist shooter that controls the flow and direction of the web's. (Note: I actually think this idea is much hipper myself and from a chemical point of view much more realistic!)

2. Tobey?

Awesome choice all around. He is a regular smarter than average student and he obviously made the fitness choice to take the role of Spidey super serious! His attitude was awesome in a post trailer interview clip where he discusses the disbelief he and his friends have ever time they actually realize, 'Dude's I'm playing F'n spiderman!!!' (Note: The shot scheduling where they filmed him as a regular unbuffed guy and then as a mutated metabolism freaked Spider-Man was totally brilliant.)

3. Dafoe?

Another killer choice, he is turning what many believed comic side to be the goofer of Spidey's Arch enemies into a cool taken serious dude! (Note: I think it would have been cooler if GG was more of a Dafoe lookalike than the robo CG thing but... Spidey's gonna freakin ROCK!)

4. How bad was the old 70's TV show compared to...

Really in perspective it wasn't bad at all. Remember where effects were in the 70's, and even then the Spidey show was pushing the threshold of what was available. In some shots they even had a stuntman at the top of some of NY's tallest buildings??? Yikes! Quite and effort for just a TV show.

Nicholas Hammond was really not all that bad as Pete or spidey. In fact I think he was really cool.

I think the greatness of the new movie may reaveal that the old 70's tv show was really not all that bad for the time. Yes the FX were super rough, inconsitent etc. But what 70's shows were good at FX anyways.

5. Verdict on what to expect?

Simple this will be one of the most amazing movie experiences ever. Yes the old James Cameron script was good, really good but apparently all the final choices for those involved in this one were exellent. Bottom line this movie WILL ROCK! And we will all see it way to many times, and we will all be inspired to get involved with film, comics, writing, etc.

I look forward to seeing one of our creations on the screen, in books, or anywhere in the future!

I'm not sure who's doing the soundtrack but from the sounds of it, I think you mean Danny Elfman. He's done a lot of films, and usually a movie where Tim Burton is directing, you'll find Elfman conducting the music. I read on the net that Elfman wrote the theme music for Army of Darkness, which is of course another Sam Raimi film.
