Yes, it's very odd. Almost as if Doom had ordered an attack upon himself to gather intelligence on Avengers' level of preparation for another terrorist attack (airport with a suicide bomber?) and to test the limits of their moral code.

On one hand, I agree totally.

OTOH, I remember that Doom's armor presses two tons while Tony Stark's armor presses 80 tons plus (depending on version). Doom's armor is a good part vanity, because short of 2099, it's never been _that_ much of a tactical advantage (in my admittedly limited and flawed memory).

Especially against Squirrel Girl.

Posting-Frequency:

rose up with the following chant:

I was wondering that too. Doom's survived a blast from the Infinity Gauntlet itself, if I remember correctly, so I don't see one trenchcoat full of dynamite knocking him out.

Doom may not have pumped his armor up for fisticuffs, but any armor that lets you walk away from a battle with the Human Torch is a *great* tactical asset. And he's (seemingly) able to plug in weapons modules at will, adequate to knock out the X-Men, without them sticking out all over the place like those 1990s cyborg heroes. Powerful, and stylish to boot.

S P O I L E R S P A C E

I didn't even bother to read this issue ... i just flipped thorugh to see if Mary Jane is back. She is, so I've immediately lost interest in the book, as I did when she and Petey got married.

I like Parker because he was always the averyage guy, just trying to get by under extraordinary circumstances. Then he marries a rich supermodel (with no real personality, other than looks) and nothing in the book was right with me anymore.

I wish, when they cancelled the original run of the book, that they would have brought back Gwen Stacy (screw continuity). She was smart, caring, and down-to-earth; exactly what the book needed.

I dunno, maybe I just prefer blondes over redheads.

Give them time. Which do you think would have more impact: killing Mary Jane while she and Peter are seperated, or killing her after they decide to spend the rest of their lives together?
