I've just recently read the Squadron Supreme trade for the first time having only owned the first 8 issues of the limited series and I was blown away by the powerful ending of this story.
Is the Death of the Universe graphic novel a worthy follow-up worth getting?

I loved the 12-issue mini-series as well. The Graphic Novel is quite good, but that mini was a pretty tough act to follow. It was good just to see the aftermath of the 'final battle' in the first part of the GN, and the rest of the story was well above what I personally consider the average comics' tale.

IMO, while being a step down from the LS, it's very much worth getting...if you can find the bloody thing. It took me over 10 years to track down a

That's a good one. The GN (which took me forever to find) is quite good...........but worthy as a follow-up to the Squadron Supreme maxiseries......?
Ah, why the hell not? It's better than most crap that been published since, and well-worth the read.

It's not quite as good as it lacks the scope for character development the maxi series had, but certainly WELL worth a look, it's definitely one of the more cosmic stories you can imagine.

Well one went for $38 on ebay today. I take it I'm unlikely to pick up a bargain copy?

I got mine for $9 on Half.com, but it's the only one I've seen even close to being a reasonable price.

I got a copy via eBay two years ago for $20. If you keep your eyes peeled you may be able to get a bargain. But out-of-print (popular) books are tough to find cheap.
And, yes, it was worth the price to me.

This'll probably start a flamewar, but does anyone else think that the ending to the Squadron Supreme mini-series had the WRONG side winning and that a lot of what Nighthawk had to say was pure BS?
Granted, I'm not SURPRISED it ended the way it did...

I wouldn't really say that *either* side 'won'.

Nope - on both counts.
Nighthawk's point was entirely correct - no matter how perfect a utopia you create, if it relies on brute force to sustain itself, you're setting up a perfect DIStopia as soon as someone with motives less pure steps into the fold. He demonstrated this quite clearly with the Golden Archer's actions. A benevolent tyranny is still a tyranny, after all.
