Don't know what to make of it yet except that I'm intrigued by the shameless insertion of an iconoclastic alternative black innercity preacher - probably the first marvel character with a blog availlable already.

The advance press talked about a descendant of the main character of the Truth being part of the book, and I'm guessing (I don't recall Priest saying anything about this) the preacher is that character.

Dave Van Domelen, probably shoulda taken notes back then and marked 'em Cone Of Silence so he could be sure what he could speculate about....

Great writing (read it in the store - took about three minutes). Not worth the money.

I'm with you. I'm not sure what to think of this book yet, but I am intrigued. I loved the scene at the pawn shop, though.

Danny Vincent, aka Junta, will be one of the members. He is not and has never been black, so comments like this are...puzzling.

Not to mention that Kasper is half black, half Jewish and the Justice character is Muslim. I trust Priest to have a plausible reason to bring all these very diverse characters into a team.

Understanding that this is a standalone Rhodey story (which I read on Newsarama) helped a lot. Rhodey has been screwy for years, and now I get to see some of the why. I like that.

I enjoyed the work, the art, and the dialogue. The Truth character, BTW, won't show up (according again to Newsarama) until issue #3.

I'm looking forward to where this goes, so I'm willing to follow it a ways. Priest has never really let me down (despite not really liking the end of Black & White).

If you don't know who the preacher is, go to Priest's website and read any of his non-comics writings. As I said, the preacher in the story is already blogging.

Note to Priest if you're reading this: This is not a criticism of the character. Do not be self concious about him.

I was unaware of Junta, but he's hardly a superhero the other three are and are Black. I'm surprised Sam Wilson isn't here. He's Black and lives in NYC, to mention having at least some semblence of a connection between at least two of the chracters.

I guess I agree with you. My biggest gripe as well. I think I actually read it during one commercial break tonight. . . . . . . . . .

Marcy Pearson betrayed Tony and Jim around 300 of Iron Man, right? That's why he is all messed up about her? I know I read it, but I cannot seem to remember it. Can anyone fill in the gap for me? My books are miles away.

Completely OT but how many Muslims do you know? They do consider themselves a race just like the Jews.
