I've always liked the Hulk and have a decent collection from the 1970's to fairly recent. The problem is, the Hulk doesn't seem to be in his own book anymore. So I dropped the title.
Is the comic still Hulkless or have things improved?

It is still Hulkless. Now, some people will say 'he is ever present and is what moves the stories', but I simply disagree. What started out as an interesting premise has drug on for far too long. Now we have the 'Incredible Banner'. He doesn't even become the Hulk anymore...Banner has the strength (and this constant running from the mysterious shadow agency is getting boring.) I've been collecting Hulk since the 70's too. I have most of the first few issues and almost all of the TTA and then his regular series. The collector in me keeps me going, but I really wish Jones would get on with it already. I've sat through some horrible creative teams, so this isn't as difficult. Like I said, he has an interesting approach, I just don't think it works for a monthly (not to mention I'm not a big fan of the upcoming artist. His previous run on the Hulk left me pretty unimpressed. The current artist is the best part of the series, IMO.) As a limited series, or as a TPB, it might be more tolerable. As it is, it is just a confusing mess that plays like the last year of the X-Files TV show. The only appearance the Hulk makes is on the cover of the book.

I haven't read The Hulk for a few years as well...
Are you saying that Banner, in his scrawny human form, has the strength of The Hulk or an intelligent Hulk has the mind of Banner (like he did several years ago)?

The Hulk has not made an appearance in the book in a long time. Banner, in the scrawny human form, has displayed the strength of the Hulk in the last two issues. This series doesn't reflect anything you read years ago. As I stated, it started out interesting, but now it seems to be meandering around in pointless directions (it is wearing on me like the TV show X-Files did in its last few seasons.) Maybe the appearance of the Abomination will finally let us see the Hulk again. However, I think Jones finds Banner much more interesting. Perhaps he is on the wrong book. Oh well, works for some...I doubt he will have a PAD like run.

No one will have a PAD like run. Ever. 10-year runs just don't happen on company books anymore.

I wish they'd give him back his classic look.

What? The Abomination or the Hulk? The Abomination had suffered from toxic waste destroying half his face. I believe he seemed to appear whole last time we saw him. However, wasn't he a hero, of sorts, at one time? I thought he had gotten over the obsession with his exwife. In the upcoming previws they show the shadow organization showing films of her while he was captured. BTW, what makes them think he is the only one to defeat the Hulk? He never has. This shadow org. seem like a bunch of incompetant idiots. They are doing the same type of things that the Hulk Busters did...for what? Hulk blood (why not just do controled testing with gamma rays? People are always after the Hulk for blood, healing ability, etc.) Why not just go after She Hulk. She would much easier prey. Oh well.
