But... didn't they? I mean, he was James Whatever, but once he and proto-Jean left The Hill, he left that name behind. When they got out west, she said their name was Logan. So, he was, basically, named 'James Logan' from his adolescance until whenever he first lost his memory.

I have no problem with readers knowing Wolverine's name. I just don't want to see it get like Magneto (nor does the original poster). Or like Kramer on Seinfeld.

Why...? It wouldn't make a difference anyway.

I : can't remember his name right now, but Gamesmaster kinda rings a bell.

The Gamesmaster is definitely a candidate: He's an omnipath, unable to cancel out any thoughts.

Another character who'd come close to 'knowing everything' is Commcast, a mutant with the ability to receive any data transmission around the globe.

Both of these guys are still at large in the Marvel Universe somewhere.

Aquaman is still called either Arthur or Orin depending on who is talking to him. We have yet to see what new Aquaman writer Rick Veicht prefers to use more often, but it's not like Arthur has been phased out. I wouldn't expect Login to necessarily dissappear either, unless Wolverine, for some reason, demands people only call him James.

They're probably both in padded rooms, self-committed after cracking under the strain of managing all of the MU continuity. Wolverine's convoluted past alone probably blew out a couple hundred synapses.
