Thunderbolts cancelled?

I was looking at the cover of the new Thunderbolts book. Has it been cancelled? I hope so, then maybe they could bring the real Thunderbolts back.

It was indeed cancelled. This is unfortunate as I was really enjoying the current story and had found the series to be unreadable for dozens of issues before the change.

Yup, #81 was the final issue, as sales were plummeting after the new 'direction' (which did not involve the prior cast at all - except for a gratuitous Man-Killer appearance in the last 2 issues)

I'd figure someone will pick up on (essentially) the new direction of the T-bolts (as a sorta Masters of Evil team) in another title; before he left (as of #75), rumor was Geoff Johns was gonna use them in AVENGERS somehow.

Fabian Nicieza recently said that the continuation of his Tbolts stories would be better served for Avengers, so it's up to Geoff Johns or whomever the new Avengers writer will be:

This last issue was pretty good, as it had what I always wanted in my Thunderbolts, the interaction of villains on a normal level, everyday level. The fight club, I could have dealt without.

Say it before, say it again: Justice Is Served </Scourge>

With the current storyline in Avengers they could show up as good guys even if they have to rule the world to save it.
