It seems to go in cycles for me personally. I add a bunch of titles, and then inevitably drop a handful every now and again. Well I just went through a small drop cycle this week. Seems like all my drops are Marvel this cycle, and to be honest I have one other Marvel title which is teetering on the edge (Exiles).
- Weapon X I was initially quite taken with this series when it started, but the story has stagnated to the point where I don't even bother reading the entire issue through any longer. The art has suffered over the past few months as well. From thinking the title held promise initially it's become one of those ho-hum titles I really don't think much about now.
- Sentinel This is another title I had great hope for when it started. But the pace of the story hasn't been what I would have liked, and it's become just a hair too 'Mangaesque' for my tastes.
- Namor I'm actually sorry to see this one go, because I really enjoy Larocca's artwork. However there simply isn't much of a story. I gave it three issues, but I just can't muster a fourth. Sorry Sal.

I've dropped Avengers because the pacing is to slow and it's been months since I've seen a supervillain. Fantastic Four is going to be dropped once Waid leaves. Hulk is on the bubble, but then again, it's been on the bubble since Jones started.
Problem is; I miss the villains. I miss them very much. In my opinion, there is no superhero without a supervillain, but Nu-Marvel seems to have very little interest in good old slugfests with dumb villains.
Man, I miss guys like Xemnu, Modok, Nefaria and Klaw.

There's been a Red Skull arc going for about the last six months, it was just a subplot until this 'Red Zone' series started up, now he's in the

Since the beginning of this year, I've dropped:
Batgirl Birds Of Prey Detective Comics Elektra Hawkman Iron Man Jack Staff Previews (I know it isn't a comic, but it's part of my comics budget)
on the brink:
Captain Marvel Queen & Country
Apparently I'm far less happy with DC these days. To be fair, I used to buy far more DC than any other publisher.

I haven't got the latest issue yet, but all I've seen so far is a man in a suit calling himself 'Dell Rusk'.

The Iron Man that came out yesterday has a new writer and is really damn good (imho). Its about time that title had some talent behind it because I like the character quite a lot.
I dropped New x, Superman, and Uncanny x. I'll probably watch these titles until I think they are worthy of my pull list again. I also got the first issue of the Spectacular Spiderman relaunch. That was a piece of crap. I had high hopes for it, but I'll probably drop it after a couple more.

I am about to drop a few Marvel books and those that are still on the bubble are all Marvel.
Iron Man - the cost on top of the quality issue. This one hurts. IM was my favorite character through the 80s and 90s.
Thor - the cost is just too much. The ideas Jurgens is exploring are interesting, but nothing seems to be happening in the book.
Captain Marvel - sorry to say the reboot did nothing for me. The cost of the book also makes it difficult to purchase.
Fantastic Four - it's just there. On the shelf, in my bag, on my table - and it sits there for ages before I force myself to read it.
Mystique - three issues in and nothing is happening. Does every book need a 6 issue story? Too much padding for 2.99. Is it just me or does the Spiral 'storyline' from Thor seem artificially created to keep certain people happy? Thor is just a long story. Why the parts 1 through 7?
On the bubble are the three X-Men books, New Mutants, and the Crew. This would leave me with only Avengers. After putting it all out for me to see, I'm surprised to find that cost is an issue with so many of the books. DC already gets most of my money, but it's probably going to get a bit more.

I, too, have had a problem with Marvel's philosophy of 4 issues no continuity and this is serious stuff approach to comics. I think that's why I liked Formerly Known as the Justice League, it looks to be nod to the past era where readers have longer memories than goldfish. Titles I have dropped in the last year:
New X-Men (I really dislike Morrison's approach to the characters. Most are unlikeable people now that I could care less about)
Punisher - I like Ennis but this series has worn on me. I still say the Punisher is not a starring character and should be kept as a guest star.
Captain America - turned too much into a Rah Rah America title.
Hawkman - like others, I think Johns has spread himself too thin. This is one of the titles that has suffered in my opinion.
Thunderbolts - No one talks about Fight Club. No one reads it either.
Luckily I have added other titles. Y-The Last Man and Fables have been fantastic reads. Outsiders and Teen Titans look promising as well. And of course, who can forget JLA/Avengers! Let's hope the hype doesn't shove expectations too high!
