Wolverine Limited #1 CGC 10.0 PERFECT MINT

There is a Wolverine #1 CGC 10.0 on ebay currently. Already up to $3,000 with 7 days remaining. Anyone know what the value is of this comic?

Most price guides list a Mint copy right around $75. It's a comic readily available in back issue bins. Another triumph for the forces of staggering stupidity.

But the $27.50 for shipping is the real deal.

Not to be pedantic or hair-splitting but the value is whatever anyone is willing to pay for this. However, ComicsPriceGuide.com lists this book in Mint Condition as being 'worth' $75.

The fact that it's sealed in a plastic slab would degrade the value for me (after all, I can't read it without busting open that plastic coffin). I'd only give $50 tops for this.

I always love the bit on the CGC strip saying 'Off White to White Pages' - like, how would you ever know and what does it matter? It's not like you're ever going to crack it open and have a peek.

I was particularly appalled when I went to look and realized that it was the first issue of the LS, not the regular series. In other words, you could get not only that issue but the other three in full-color trade at Amazon for under eleven dollars. No, wait, I'm forgetting, that's for people who want to *read* it. <shaking head>
